DESCRIPTION:Come and join us this morning either in person or on the lives
 tream at 10.00 a.m. for Morning Prayer and Holy Rosary\, celebrating the f
 east of Ss Philip and James.  Philip was born in Bethsaida\, and became an
  early disciple of Jesus after following John the Baptist\; he also persua
 ded Nathanael to follow Jesus too.  In the gospel of John\, he is the apos
 tle approached by the Greeks who want to meet Jesus.  It is likely that he
  preached the Gospel in Phrygia (now part of Turkey) and died at Hierapoli
 s (centre of the Phrygian cult centre of the mother goddess Cybele and lat
 er a Greek city) where he was buried.   James (son of Alphaeus\, called th
 e Less to distinguish him from James son of Zebedee) is identified with th
 e James whose mother stood by Christ on the Cross\, and also with the 'bro
 ther of the Lord' who saw the risen Christ and is called the first bishop 
 of Jerusalem.  The relics of both saints were translated to Rome and burie
 d together on 1 May AD 560.
