DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for our morning worship today as we celebrate
  St Helena\, the who became a Christian in 312 AD\, and was mother of the 
 Emperor Constantine\, who was converted by her and who subsequently decrim
 inalised Christianity in the Roman Empire and convoked the First Council o
 f Nicaea in 325 AD.  Helena was born in Drepanum (later named Helenopolis)
  which has been identified as Hersek in north-western Turkey.   She made a
  pilgrimage to the Holy Land and was said by St Ambrose to have found the 
 Cross on which Jesus was crucified.  Helena died in Jerusalem in 330 AD. C
 onstantine died in 337 AD.
