DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for the birthday of the Church.  The disciple
 s were still hiding away in a house\, somewhere in Jerusalem\, on a feast 
 day (feast not specified) when a tremendous wind filled the place and the 
 disciples started speaking in other languages.  Imagine the noise! It's ha
 rdly surprising that a crowd gathered to find out what was going on\, or t
 hat people thought the disciples were drunk.  The remarkable thing is that
  the many nationalities in the crowd heard their own languages being spoke
 n\; they did not need any interpreters.   Peter speaks to the crowd and te
 lls them that the prophesy of Joel is being fulfilled\; the Holy Spirit is
  being poured out on all people to herald the coming of the day of the Lor
 d.   Let us pray that the Holy Spirit is poured out on the whole Church\, 
 including our church of St Michael and All Angels.
