DESCRIPTION:Come and join us tomorrow 14 December for our Parish Mass for 
 the 3rd Sunday of Advent\, when we honour the great prophet who made strai
 ght the way of the Lord\, his cousin John the Baptist. It is also called G
 audete Sunday\,  the Latin for Rejoice.  The introit is 'Rejoice in the Lo
 rd always\, and again I say rejoice'\, and the liturgical colour is rose. 
  The rose candle on the Advent Wreath is lit with the prayer: \n\n'God our
  Father\,\nyou gave to Zechariah and Elizabeth in their old age\na son cal
 led John.  \nHe grew up strong in spirit\,\nprepared the people for the co
 ming of the Lord\,\nand baptised them in the Jordan to wash away their sin
 s.  \nHelp us\, who have been baptised into Christ\,\nto be ready to welco
 me him into our hearts\,\nand to grow strong in faith by the power of the 
 Spirit.\nWe ask this through Jesus Christ\,\nthe light who is coming into 
 the world.  AMEN\n\nAll are welcome either in person or on the livestream 
 at 10.30 a.m.
