DESCRIPTION:Come and join us tomorrow\, 15 March at 10.30 a.m. for our cel
 ebration of Mothering Sunday (Mid-Lent or Refreshment Sunday)\, an ancient
  festival which has been celebrated for centuries on these islands.  On Mo
 thering Sunday\, Christians historically visited their mother church—the
  church in which they received the sacrament of baptism.  Its association 
 with mothering originates in the texts read during the Mass in the Middle 
 Ages.  It is also called Laetare Sunday ('Rejoice' Sunday) as the introit 
 invites us all to rejoice with Jerusalem (Isaiah 66) as God gives the city
  peace.  In these difficult times we do indeed pray for the peace of Jerus
 alem.  St Michael's Voyagers will be distributing flowers which are blesse
 d at the end of Mass.
