DESCRIPTION:Our 9.30am service on Palm Sunday will begin outside with the
Blessing of Palm Crosses. \nThis will take place on the riverside outside
Fusebox/John Lewis which may be accessed via the sloped walkway and tunne
l near TK Maxx. \nPlease meet us there at 9.30am. Service sheets will be g
iven out in situ so no need to go to the church first. \nWe will then proc
ess along the river and up to church for the rest of the service. \nThe sa
me prayers that are said outside will also be said in church for those who
would find the procession difficult and those joining us via livestream.
\n\nPalm Sunday\, celebrated one week before Easter Day\, marks the triump
hal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem\, an event that is recorded in al
l four Gospels. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey\, while the crowds w
aved palm branches and shouted "Hosanna!" (an exclamation of praise). To
mark this\, Palm Sunday is often celebrated with a procession through the
streets near a cathedral or church\, where congregations carry palm branch
es. \nThe palm crosses are then often burned to make ashes for the followi
ng year's Ash Wednesday service.\n\nThe service includes a dramatized read
ing of the passion narrative.\n\nFeaturing the Choir of All Saints Kingsto
n\, one of the best parish choirs in London performing Cathedral quality m
 usic.
