 ewis Williams visits St George Tombland.\nElizabeth’s work explores the 
 beauty and fragility of Antarctic landscapes\, the devotional aspects of s
 cientific research\, and the urgent need for action to protect vulnerable 
 global landscapes.\n\nElizabeth Lewis Williams is a Norwich-based poet and
  writer. She has been involved in two NERC-funded projects about climate s
 cience and climate narratives. Her interests centre around Antarctica\, it
 s literature\, history\, and science\; the literature of place\; remote se
 nsing and the imagination and the ways in which arts/science collaboration
 s can engage wider audiences in climate science.  She’ll be speaking abo
 ut the history of climate science in the Antarctic over the last 70 years\
 , and the ways in which literature can offer more environmentally consciou
 s alternatives to global travel.\nThe talk will be followed by refreshment
 s\, probably enjoying a gorgeous June evening under the lovely trees in ou
