CALLING ALL PAST PUPILS OF CLAPHAM SCHOOL: THE CLASS OF 2020 NEED YOUR HELP!
As you will probably know by now, notice has been given that Clapham School will be closing at the end of this academic year. In spite of Covid restrictions and complications, the school wants to end on a high note and celebrate the life and times, the history and the legacy of our small school and to ensure that its place in the story of the village and our local community is never forgotten. They had planned a variety of celebrations but, for obvious reasons, these are unlikely to be possible.
Current pupils would like as many past pupils as possible to get in touch to share some of their memories of the school. This will be be put together into a presentation that will be shared with the whole community. For this reason, they have asked that all responses reach them by 29th June. They would also be interested to hear from others who have had significant involvement with the school in a capacity other than as a pupil.
Please email to [email protected].
The current pupils have come up with with a few questions and would be hugely grateful if you would answer any or all of the questions, either in writing OR, if you feel able, by recording a short video either with an anecdote or with a special message; anything that, for you, captures the best of Clapham School (it doesn’t need to be long or a work of literary/cinematic genius!).
When did you come to the school and how long for?
What was a normal school day like?
What were the names of the teachers and the head teacher?
What subjects did you learn, which were your favourites, and why?
What was your fondest or worst memory?
Do you have any photos or memorabilia you could share with us? (Current photos too if you like).
Any special message for the school?
Please, please help us to put this together. Every little bit will make a difference.
Thanks for reading this: please pass this on to anyone you know! Please use the social media links and download the letter on this page.
