Church of England Diocese of Leeds St. Michael, Haworth

Our full plan for October and November

25 Aug 2020, 3 p.m.

Our live Sunday morning worship on 11 October is an All Age Harvest Festival at 9.30 a.m. at St James’, Cross Roads. Do you join us! Our first experiment at Covid-safe All Age Worship (at St Michael’s, Haworth three weeks ago) involved a couple of families and went surprisingly well!

Our forward dates now are:

18 Oct Morning Worship at 11.00 am at St Michael’s celebrating the 150th anniversary of the church clock

25 Oct Communion at 9.30 am at St James’

1 Nov All Age Worship at 11.00 am at St Michael’s celebrating All Saints’ Day

8 Nov Remembrance provision to be arranged in line with local consultation now that it is announced that no gatherings are possible at War Memorials

15 Nov Morning Worship at 9.30 at St James’

22 Nov Communion at 11.00 am at St Michael’s

29 Nov All Age Worship at 9.30 am at St James’ celebrating the beginning of Advent

We will continue to release a fresh on-line half-hour Sunday Worship video each week in partnership with West Lane Baptist Church.

We will continue to provide Covid-safe Communion each week in each church (3.30 pm on Sundays at St Gabriel’s, 10.30 a.m. on Wednesdays at St James’ and 12.30 pm on Fridays at St Michael’s).

Anyone is allowed to attend worship (as an individual or in a household-bubble) under regulations in place.

Covid-19 precautions must be and are in place (mask if not exempt, both hand sanitisation and ‘track and trace’ registration on arrival, physical distancing). We either clean the spaces people have occupied or leave them unused for at least 72 hours or (most often) both.

But people may not interact (mix or socialise) with others who are attending.

About ninety different people have attended at least one service in our three churches over the last few weeks on this basis.

But we perfectly understand that many others (including at least fifty adults who otherwise certainly would have been at public worship over the last few weeks) are choosing to continue to stay away from all social gathering points.
