You are welcome at St John's whatever your sexual orientation.
The clergy of St John's believe that there is nothing in the Gospel revealed by Jesus, nor anywhere else in the Bible, which argues that same-sex relationships are essentially evil.
If you are in a Civil Patrnership we are very happy to celebrate with you the commitment you have made or are making. The Church of England can not at present offer a service of marriage, but our Bishops have encouraged us to offer prayer for and with you as you take this step, and we are delighted to be able to do so.
And if you are gay or lesbian, bisexual or transgendered, we will Baptise your children and offer you every other ministry of the Church. You will also be welcomed into the fellowship of the congregation to the extent that you want to be.
Please be assured though: St John's is not an 'issue-based' Church.
We are simply a Parish Church, trying to celebrate the love of a God who breaks down barriers and welcomes all who respond.
And on a practical note, all our facilities are gender-neutral.
