DESCRIPTION:The service begins outside with the lighting and blessing of t
 he ‘New Fire’ from which the large Paschal (Easter) Candle and (later)
  candles held by the congregation\, are lit. The Deacon or Priest carries 
 the Paschal Candle and leads the congregation into the dark and silent chu
 rch which now represents the tomb.\nThree ‘stations’ are made – mirr
 oring the ones made by the cross on Good Friday – and the candle is then
  put in place in the sanctuary\, and ‘The Exultet’ – an ancient hymn
  of praise - is sung.
