Peter Pan: The Pantomime

21 Dec 2018, 6 p.m.

The church hall was crammed full of parents, grandparents and local people, including our Ward Councillor Mary Locke, cheering on Peter and Tink as they took three children from Pineapple Road to Neverland for an adventure of a life time!

Twenty young people and five of their leaders had been rehearsing all term. There were lines to learn, songs to practice and dance battles to perfect. All their hard work paid off with over 150 people coming to see them perform over the two days.

Not only was Peter Pan the panto an all singing, all dancing affair, but the brightly coloured costumes and quirky props added much to the festive fun. Where else can you find a bearded, glittery, mermaid; see a fairy pop out of a wheelie bin and have Captain Hook row past your seat to the Blue Peter theme tune?!

Most of the young people (and some of the leaders!) hadn’t been on the stage before. It was wonderful opportunity for them all to try something new and grow in determination and confidence. It was a real team effort!

If you came to see it, we’d love to know what you thought! What was your favourite bit? Send an email via the Contact Us page and let us know!

The Youth Zone is a youth group for 11-14s that meet on Fridays in term time from 5.30-7pm. If you’d like to know more about it then do be in touch.
