DESCRIPTION:At Christ Church we celebrate the Lord’s Supper and re-enact
  Jesus’ washing of his disciples’ feet at this very special service. T
 his is an event for the whole parish of Great Chesham. If you would like t
 o come forward during the service to have your foot washed\, then do make 
 sure you have footwear that can be removed easily\, (eg not tights). At th
 e end of the service the lights are gradually dimmed and as the passion na
 rrative is read the church is stripped of all its hangings and ornaments\,
  a very moving experience.\n\n The church will remain open until midnight\
 , for any who wish to stay\, for a silent candlelit vigil. You may come an
 d go as you please during this time.
