"Without forewarning, the Government announced on Saturday night that churches may open from 15th June for private prayer if they choose to, and I am taking the earliest opportunity to make you aware of this. There is absolutely no compulsion to open and there will be some parishes where there are good reasons for not doing so. Each incumbent and PCC will need to take their own local decision based on your own risk assessment and local, common sense, wisdom. "
Following the Bishops guidance, we have put arrangements in place to open All Saints Sunday 21st June 10-12noon as a place of sanctuary and prayer to help us emerge out of the confines of lockdown, and begin to reconnect as a community again.
Please be aware the opening permits private prayer only - at this stage public worship is not yet permitted. For the wellbeing of all visitors please observe social distancing at all times, use the provided hand sanitiser as you enter and as you leave, avoid unnecessary touching of surfaces and observe all signs and instructions.
All people of prayer are warmly welcome to find comfort in the space and holiness of their parish church. For over 110 years, thousands of people in Borehamwood have looked to All Saints as a place to bring their deepest concerns, frustrations, joys and pain. So come, light a candle, sit quietly, and through private prayer reach up to God in faith and reach out in compassion for the world.
