On 4th November the Parish had a meeting with Bishop Michael and Archdeacon Jane to discuss our current vacancy and plan the next steps forward. Those present found the meeting very positive; one parishioner commented that ‘my wife and I thought Bishop Michael’s enthusiastic and professional conduct of the meeting had been very effective in drawing out what was needed from us. More important still was the confidence we felt that he and Jane “had our backs”, knew before we started how important this was for the parish, and would do their best to find someone suitable. We came away with a strong feeling that ‘all shall be well’.
The timetable going forward is that the post will be advertised early next year with interviews on 19th April and formal licencing in September to allow for the new vicar to settle in during the summer holidays. We look forward to this new era in our parish.
