We are delighted to announce that the Reverend David Payne has been appointed as the

Priest in Charge for the Benefice of Silsoe, Flitton and Pulloxhill.

David is currently the Vicar of Bottesford, Muston, Redmile, Plungar and Barkestone in the Vale of

Belvoir (Leicester Diocese) and Deanery Pastoral Ministry Enabler. He is looking forward to having

a shorter title!

He has been ordained for 25 years and is delighted to be returning both to his former Diocese and to the Bedford area.

David has extensive experience of rural ministry and also served as a hospital chaplain. He is a

passionate advocate of churches that seek to be good news to their community and to

demonstrate the love of Jesus.

In his spare time David enjoys long-distance walking, writing and is a lifelong supporter of

Peterborough United. He is married to Jo, an exams invigilator who loves being involved in church

life and is looking forward to her new home. They have two grown up sons, Simon, who lives in

Lincoln with his wife Molly, and Ben, who is studying software engineering at Newcastle University.

David and Jo are very much looking forward to the challenge and privilege of serving folk in their

new villages. David will be licensed as our Priest in Charge by Bishop Alan, at a date that has yet to be agreed.

We look forward to welcoming David and Jo to our Benefice and to our communities.
