THE BENEFICE CHOIR of Cople, Moggerhanger and Willington
We stopped having regular practices in March 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic, but by June there were dark mutterings – “when are we going to be able to sing together again?” So, we engaged with Zoom. Now, I don’t know if you know very much about singing on the Internet, but without the technical know-how, the whole experience is pretty disastrous. It just doesn’t work!! However, we persevered, meeting fortnightly, and managed to learn quite a lot, including Carols, which we recorded for use in the Christmas services.
Come July 2021, and we were able to meet, at last, in person, and hear what we had been learning. We now meet weekly, alternately at St. Lawrence’s Church and All Saints, Cople, on Wednesday mornings, with a 9.30am start. This means we don’t have to go out at night in cold, dark, wet or icy weathers – the whole thing is much more civilised!
If you would like to join us, we would be so pleased to welcome you. We’ll have songs and hymns to learn, and the pleasure of singing together. Our first practice of the Autumn Season is on Wednesday 8th September, at St. Lawrence’s Church, Willington, at 9.30am. Further details from me, Shirley Jones, on 01234 831 565.
