It has been a strange week with the churches closed again so soon after we had adjusted to the new normal way of safely gathering to worship together, but the important thing is that we all stay safe and well. It has been good to meet up on zoom for Afternoon Tea and for Morning Prayer and to stay in touch, but it will be so good when we can meet in person again.
At last the sunshine is out.. how uplifting the light is after a couple of wet and dreary days. We hope you are all keeping well and coping with this latest lockdown. It definitely seems harder this time with the days drawing in so quickly of an afternoon.. but we will soon be at the shortest day and light will draw us forth. In between time, we have begun to contemplate the Advent season of Watching and Waiting and to plan for Christmas services to celebrate Jesus' birth. Will we be gathered in church.. We certainly hope so!
Last Sunday we 'Remembered' on Remembrance Sunday and on Wednesday 11th November 'Armistice Day', in new ways, with a limited number of representatives able to attend at the different war memorials, but despite the church doors being closed and our Sunday morning Services being cancelled, people showed their respects by laying poppy tributes within the stone outlined crosses at various churches and Toddington Village enjoyed following the Poppy Trail to raise funds for the British Legion.
