APCM: This year's Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held on May 16th at 12 noon on zoom and this is open to all on the Church electoral roll. We realise that not everyone will have access to a computer, but there is the choice of telephoning into the meeting. We apologise for those who will be unable to join us, but at that point we will not have access to the Town Hall to meet physically and even if we had that option, we would be severely restricted by the numbers who could attend. A zoom invitation will be issued at a later date. Blessings, Heidi.

REVISION OF ELECTORAL ROLL: Our church electoral roll has to be revised in preparation for our annual meeting on 16 May. If you are not already on our roll and would like to be included, please could you contact me either by telephone (01763 245273) or by email ([email protected]) and I will send you the necessary form. Completed forms need to be returned to me by Sunday, 18 April, at the latest, please. Many thanks. Brenda Strangleman.

ROYSTON & DISTRICT COMMUNITY TRANSPORT By the time you read this, Community Transport should be back to normal – barring last minute Government change of mind of course! We are once again available for hairdresser and similar appointments, shopping trips, gym, and social visits (as long as they are meeting up outdoors or at a garden centre), BUT we will keep our precautions as before – our rules for one household per car remains, preferably with one person in the back although we are flexible to take carers or allow sitting in a front seat if back seat is too difficult, and of course, don’t forget your face mask. As usual we will try our best to meet your needs, please ring the office on (01763) 245228 between 9:00am and 3:00pm Monday to Friday.

TWIN YOUR VACCINE? Your two doses of vaccine (depending on which kind you had) might be worth between £4 and £30. If you could have afforded to buy it for yourself, please consider twinning your vaccination by donating to Unicef. Rev'd Scott Patteson and his wife, Rowan have set up a JustGiving page which will be linked to Unicef's Covax project. For more details, please see:

WATCH OUT FOR VACCINE SCAMS: Unfortunately, some criminals are taking advantage of the roll out of the coronavirus vaccine to commit fraud.

The most important point to remember is that the vaccine is free of charge.

The NHS will never:

· ask you for your bank account or card details

· ask you for your PIN or banking password

· arrive unannounced to your home to administer the vaccine

· ask you to prove your identity by sending copies of personal documents such as your passport, driving licence, bills or pay slips.

CHRIS WALLIS TOMATO PLANTS: As well as new season marmalade being available, I am growing tomato plants again this year to raise money towards the Church funds. They have already germinated, been pricked out and are currently enjoying the warmth of our dining room! Barring any disasters there should be plenty of plants so there is no need to rush your orders in just yet! I’ll keep you updated on progress.

28 TOO MANY Ann-Marie Wilson is doing a sponsored cycle ride in her sitting room where she will cycle for 28 minutes at a time whilst thinking about each of the 28 countries that she supports through her work for 28 Too Many. Any money donated will be matched by a third party. Please see:

SPONSOR A CHAIR: We continue to receive great support for the sponsor a chair scheme. So far we have received sponsorship for 128 chairs, raising over £32,000 including Gift Aid towards our church refurbishment fund. There is still plenty of opportunity to sponsor a chair, at the cost of £250 per chair. You can download the sponsor form via this link:

or e-mail [email protected]

FUNDRAISING COOKBOOK: Our new recipe book, "Thoroughly Modern Beeton" is available at £10 each. If you want to order any please email [email protected] or phone 01763 244538.

ROYSTON FOOD BANK: needs the following items jam, Long life milk, tuna, tinned meat, tinned fruit (not peaches), pasta sauces (but not pasta), and coffee. Please can you take these items to your local collection point, or to the food bank at the Evangelical Church on York Way on Wednesday or Saturday from 10am-12noon. Please note: fresh foods cannot be accepted. Thank you all for your help. PRAYER DIARY FOR APRIL : This month's prayer diary can be downloaded for use at home:

DAILY HOPE offers music, prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England at the end of a telephone line. A Church of England initiative in partnership with CONNECTIONS at Holy Trinity Claygate, and Faith in Later Life. The line – which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 – has been set up particularly with those unable to join online church services during the period of restrictions in mind. “With many in our country on lockdown, it's important that we support those who are feeling lonely and isolated, whatever age they are" - Archbishop Justin Welby.
