Back in March 2020 I was due to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Macmillan Cancer. Sadly, this fell victim to the lockdown. Instead I was still able to raise over £2,000 by running a solo half marathon from Appleton. On the day itself many of you gave me a lovely send-off in freezing conditions and you were also very generous with your donations.
The good news is that after 18 months the postponed London Landmarks Half Marathon is finally taking place on Sunday August 1st. This time I want to thank the village for the support last time by running for a good cause "close to home".
Just like that London landmark Big Ben, you'll have noticed our own village clock has fallen silent this past year. The clock striking mechanism needs urgent overhaul and repair. This will cost several thousand pounds to put right. Any funding I can raise will be used to help repair the clock and make a few improvements to the tower to ensure the clock and striking mechanism for the bells remain in good working order for decades to come.
If you wish to sponsor me, the Just Giving link is below or I'm happy to drop by with the form or feel free to knock at Hall Cottage.
