DESCRIPTION:Blue Christmas is a special seasonal service that recognises t
 hat Christmas with all its merriment and jollity can be a difficult time f
 or many.\n\nIt is a service for those who experience recent or ongoing per
 sonal loss\; such as the death of a loved one\, relationship breakdown\, d
 ivorce\, illness\, job loss and uncertainty\, or loneliness.\n\nThe servic
 e seeks to offer comfort by acknowledging and honouring feelings of sadnes
 s and pain.\n\nOur service will have a mixture of carols and readings to t
 ell the Christmas story\; prayers which acknowledge pain and emptiness alo
 ngside the Christian hope\;\n\na reflection which gently speaks of light i
 n darkness.\n\nWe keep the length to no more than 40 minutes\, and leave t
 imes of silence. We also stay seated throughout the whole service\, to avo
 id any embarrassment of knowing when to stand.\n\nRefreshments will be ser
 ved at the end if you’d like to stay.
