 nt. Ashes are an ancient sign of penitence\; from the middle ages it becam
 e the custom to begin Lent by being marked in ash with the sign of the cro
 ss.  The ashes that are used are from the burning of palm crosses from the
  previous Palm Sunday.\nTuhkakeskiviikon iltamessu yhteistyössä Tuomasyh
 teisön ja anglikaanien kanssa keskiviikkona 5.3. klo 18 Helsingin tuomiok
 irkossa. Mukana kaksikielisessä (suomi-englanti) papit Kati Pirttimaa tuo
 masyhteisöstä ja Anna-Maija Viljanen-Pihkala ja Maria Obafemi-Onuigbo Tu
 omiokirkkoseurakunnasta\, kanttorina Anu Pulkkinen. Messussa laulaa anglik
 aanisen seurakunnan kuoro.
