DESCRIPTION:As last year\, our Good Friday service in Cognac will be a joi
 nt service with our friends from the EPUdF\, using a "Tenebrae" liturgy.\n
 The word “Tenebrae” is a Latin word meaning “shadows” or “darkne
 ss”.  Celebrated on Good Friday in many Christian Churches since at leas
 t the 9th century\, this service takes its name from the extinction of lig
 hts in commemoration of the events of the Passion.  The shadow of the Cros
 s turns our gaze to the Light of Christ.  The candles are extinguished\, o
 ne after the other\, each stage illustrating an extract from the Passion a
 s recounted in the Scriptures. \nWe do hope that you will be able to join 
 us for this solemn and moving service\, as we follow Jesus on his journey 
 through crucifixion and the grave to the joy of Easter morn.
