 2026\, 17:00 at St. John’s Church Territet\n\nSophie Leacacos\, of Russi
 an and Welsh descent\, began her musical studies at the age of 4 with pian
 ist and composer LaSalle Spier (then aged 60)\, her sole professor of pian
 o. She gave her first public recital at the age of 15\, at the prestigious
  Phillips Gallery in Washington\, D.C. As a classical interpreter\, Mme Le
 acacos is the inheritor of the most distinguished European musical traditi
 on: LaSalle Spier was a student of pianist and composer Rafael Joseffy\, h
 imself a student of Franz Liszt.\n\nMme. Leacacos taught at Wesleyan Unive
 rsity (Connecticut) and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
 \, where she was awarded a doctoral fellowship in musicology and philosoph
 y. In association with the Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Institute
  of Music\, she was the organizer and first executive director of the Robe
 rt Casadesus International Piano Competition\, now known as the Cleveland 
 Competition.\n\nFrom 2006 to 2015 Mme Leacacos lived in Shanghai\, China\,
  where she gave masterclasses for Steinway and Fazioli\, as well as concer
 ts to raise money for the foundation Heart to Heart Shanghai.\n\nA Swiss c
 itizen\, Mme Leacacos has given many public conerts for the benefit of Swi
 ss charities\, and continues to teach piano privately.\n\nWELCOME to the h

 rganisatrice et la première directrice exécutive du Concours de Piano In
 ternational Robert Casadesus\, connu aujourd’hui comme le Concours de Cl
