DESCRIPTION:Our Youth and Families leader\, Nick White\, is arranging to t
ake a group of 15 - 17 year olds to Taize in France during Pentecost in 20
26 (24th to 30th May). For some of our teens this will be their first time
out of the country. This is an exciting opportunity for them to take time
to find out more about themselves through prayer and community. Registrat
ion is open until 30th November. If you would like to find out more\, plea
se contact Nick White by emailing: youthex@exmouthcoastalchurches.org.uk\n
\nThe 2026 meetings in Taizé will be centred on the theme: “What are yo
u looking for?”. \nThroughout the year speakers from diverse backgrounds
will lead workshops on themes such as the ecological transition\, justice
and peace\, the diversity of Churches and religious traditions\, and the
place of faith in professional life. \n\nThe meetings at Taizé are centre
d around the community of brothers. All participants gather morning\, noon
\, and evening for community prayer. All members of the group must be well
prepared and ready to participate in all the activities offered\, in orde
r to fully enter into the rhythm of the meeting: community prayers\, bibli
cal reflections\, discussion groups with other young people\, simple life
together\, respect for silence during prayer and at night\, in Taizé and
the surrounding area.\nIt is important that everyone who comes to Taizé h
as decided this freely and that the stay is not simply an obligatory part
of a longer trip. Young people aged 15-17 and their accompanying adults pa
rticipate in a dedicated program.\n\nEach day\, they attend a biblical int
roduction led by a Brother or someone designated by the community. At the
end of the first introduction\, the young people are divided into sharing
groups of about 10 individuals (from different groups)\, accompanied by a
group leader. These groups meet in the morning and afternoon\, following t
he activities presented during the introduction.
