Extract from an email dated 19th December 2020 from the churchwardens:
"Due to the increasing numbers of Covid infections in Tier 2, even in Devon and more locally, over the last few days, and the relaxation of all Covid rules over Christmas, it has very sadly been decided that the Carols on the Green tomorrow and the services planned for inside St Winifred's church on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will all be cancelled. There were already no services planned for St Winifred's on Sunday the 27th.
There are always many services which can be followed on television and radio and on line. The on line services for our own group of parishes are available on the Chagford Church website (www.chagfordchurch.co.uk). Exeter Cathedral similarly provides on line services (www.exeter-cathedral.org.uk)."
"St Winifred's will be decorated and open on Christmas Day between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm for private prayer and personal reflection and will be manned during that time, so please don't feel excluded on such an important day in the Christian calendar.
The next planned service for St Winifred's will be the regular Holy Communion at 9.30 am on Sunday the 3rd January."
