From the Rector:
I am very grateful to Keith who has put this together. The service (either above or here) and attachments can be watched and used at any time of the day. However, I will be joining in the service at 10.00am and it would be lovely if as many of us could do the same. The two minutes of silence at 11am begins on the BCC at 10.55.
Friday May the 8th is the 75th anniversary of VE day. In normal times, there would have been an act of worship in St. Peter's as part of the wider celebrations across our villages. Sadly, with the current restrictions, this has not been possible. However, all is not lost. The Church of England published an outline service which Janet has asked me to adapt and to that add a reflection.
You can either use the service liturgy and reflection for your own thanksgiving or join me in the YouTube video. If you watch the video, you might wish to to download the order of service from this page and join in the responses.
The reflection can be found here.
I hope you will agree it's a fitting alternative when commemorating such an important day in our history and remembering the many lives lost.
