  out late for. We commemorate the events of the Last Supper\, when Jesus c
 ommissioned the disciples to share bread and wine in remembrance of him. S
 o Maundy Thursday is the reason we meet Sunday by Sunday for the Eucharist
 \; it’s where it all started. The service also commemorates Christ washi
 ng the disciples’ feet and giving the “new commandment” to love one 
 another. Though the disciples later abandoned Jesus\, we are invited to wa
 tch and pray for a time after the service – for however long you would l
 ike – in the presence of Christ in the Lady Chapel\, where the Blessed S
 acrament is reserved.
