Not knowing how well you all read Roots and Shoots I thought I would let you know that the next Archdeacon of Barnstaple has been appointed, she is The Rev’d Canon Verena Breed. Bishop Robert will collate Verena at a special service in St Mary’s, Bideford on Wednesday 15th September at 7pm. This will be followed by her installation in the Cathedral on Tuesday 12th October during Evensong. More information to follow but please note these dates in your diaries.

Until the end of July we continue to be blessed to have the Rev’d Preb Giles King-Smith as Acting Archdeacon of Barnstaple - thank you Giles for all your care, support and wisdom over the past year.

I am sure we will want give Verena a good warm North Devon welcome on her arrival, she is looking forward to getting out and about, exploring our beautiful area and to meeting you.

Please hold Verena in your prayers as she and her family prepare to move to Stage Cross and make a new home with us.
