DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to join us for Choral Evensong on Sunday 28 Se
 ptember as we celebrate eight centuries since the dedication of the three 
 altars in the East End\, or Trinity Chapel as we know it today.\n\nThe ser
 vice will be sung by the Cathedral Choir\, with the sermon given by the Tr
 easurer\, Canon Kenneth Padley. Following Evensong\, the congregation will
  process to the Trinity Chapel\, where prayers will be offered and the cho
 ir will sing an anthem in the space dedicated 800 years ago.\n\nThe origin
 al dedication fell on the Eve of Michaelmas (the Feast of St Michael and A
 ll Angels). The day after\, the Cathedral welcomed Archbishop Stephen Lang
 ton\, and just three days later King Henry III visited. These events are r
 ecorded in the medieval cartulary known as the Register of St Osmund\, par
 t of the Cathedral’s treasured archive.\n\nJoin us as we reflect and cel
 ebrate this significant part of the life and history of Salisbury Cathedra
 l.
