DESCRIPTION:In 1968\, John Pensom of The Children’s Society introduced t
 he Christingle tradition to the Church of England in this country. A Chris
 tingle is made by decorating an orange with a red ribbon\, dried fruits\, 
 sweets\, and a candle. Each part is a symbol of the Christian faith\, repr
 esenting Christ as the Light of the World.\n\nDuring this family service\,
  children will have the opportunity to make their own Christingles. We wil
 l light them together and sing as we celebrate the coming of God in Jesus.
  All are warmly invited to stay for refreshments after the service.
