Church of England Diocese of Salisbury West Parley

Christmas is a celebration of God’s peace revealed in the Christ-child, the baby in the manger. Our instinct is always to come together to share joyfully this good news. In the challenging circumstances of the times it is difficult to celebrate and worship as freely as we normally would. At All Saints’ and St. Mark’s this year Christmas will be somewhat different but we hope that there will be opportunity for everyone to share in the peace and joy of the occasion and for hope to be kindled anew in many hearts.</span>

It will be necessary to book in advance for those services below where indicated.  Booking to be made by email to the Rector: [email protected]  Please note that the Eucharists of Wednesday 23rd and Sunday 27th will be very much Christmas services. Some people may prefer to come to these rather than the Eucharists of Christmas Night and Christmas Morning.

The Crib Service will be the telling of the Christmas Story with the placing of the figures by the Manger. It will be earlier than usual (3.00pm) and somewhat shorter. Weather permitting it will culminate with outdoor carol singing on the Church green at St. Mark’s at 3.30pm. People coming just for the outdoor carols do not need to book.

Similarly, weather permitting, there will be outdoor carols and readings in the churchyard at All Saints at 10.00am on Christmas Morning. Again there is no need to book for this but anyone wishing to attend the 8.00am service of Holy Communion will need to book.
