Members of the PCC met to discuss the reopening of All Saints Church building last night. We had already planned to reopen by at least Palm Sunday 28th March but after discussion we feel confident that we can safely reopen on Mothering Sunday 14th March.
As well as the QI Code Track and Trace we will add a register for those who do not use the NHS app. Masks will continue to need to be worn by everyone attending unless exempt. Social distancing will remain in place just as before and sanitizing stations are provided.
We have always been able to open but felt the numbers of infections were too high and also wanted to stand with the community and businesses affected. We believe that now is the time to begin rebuilding confidence in the community and that we should be a safe place for people to venture out should they wish to do so.
Very importantly, no one should feel obliged or compelled to attend church as clergy, volunteers, employees or congregation. You can still watch all the services on the Facebook page and certainly you should continue to follow advice of your doctors if you are particularly vulnerable.
I look forward to opening the doors again and welcoming you all back to All Saints both in church and online.
