1. PEW SHEET for w/c Sunday 02/05/2021

PRAY FOR GOD'S CHURCH throughout the world in these difficult and dangerous times; for all churches keeping Eastertide; for everyone with Covid-19; for those receiving Covid vaccinations; and for those caring generally for the sick and the elderly, including Liz, John, Derek, and Elizabeth, who are all members of our congregation.

PLEASE ALSO PRAY FOR all in any kind of trouble, sickness, need, or anxiety; for Audrey, Richard, Bob, Paul, Sue, Jim, Del, Clive, Esther, Doug, Laurence, and Father Robert; for Graham, Nicole, Margaret, Sue, Christine, Roger, Father Colin, and Stephen, all with cancer; for those looking for work, especially Steve.

REMEMBER the recently departed; Ruth, Lilian Cummins, Monica Stapleton, Mervyn Delve, Janelle Case, and the many thousands who have died of Covid-19; also those whose anniversary of death occurs this week; Edward Middleton, Timothy Darge, Lily Moorcroft, Pat Wilton, Pam Hopgood, John Bingham, and Father Ernest Brown.

For your personal prayer time:

An ancient Celtic hymn to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Thou art all-lovely, O Mary, and the stain of sin is not found in thee.

Thou art the glory of Jerusalem, Thou art the joy of Israel.

Thou art the greatest honour of our people, Thou art the advocate of sinners.

O Mary, O Mary, Virgin most prudent, Mother most merciful, pray for us, intercede for us with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

A prayer of Julian of Norwich (commemorated on 8th May)

In you, Father all-mighty, we have our preservation and our bliss. In you, Christ, we have our restoring and our saving.

You are our mother, brother, and Saviour. In you, our Lord the Holy Spirit, is marvellous and plenteous grace.

You are our clothing; for love you wrap us and embrace us.

You are our maker, our lover, our keeper.

Teach us to believe that by your grace all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Amen.

EASTERTIDE PRAYERS from the Taize Community:

O Christ, by your resurrection you open to all people the gates of the Kingdom: lead us to the Father's glory.

By your resurrection you strengthened the faith of your disciples and you sent them into the world: may your Church be faithful in turn in proclaiming the Good News.

By your resurrection you reconciled us in your peace: enable all the baptized to enter into one and the same communion of faith and love.

By your resurrection you heal our humanity and you give us eternal life: we entrust all the sick to you.

By your resurrection you have become the first of the living.

Risen Jesus, you breathe your Holy Spirit upon us. And we would like to say to you: you have the words that give life to our soul; to whom else would we go but to you, the Risen Lord?

Amen.

May Our Lady of Walsingham, St Luke (our Patron), and ALL the saints and holy ones, pray for us, now and always.
