Welcome to St Nicolas Church, Great Bookham.  We are a friendly Anglican Church which anyone is always welcome to join.  No matter what your background or age you're always welcome at St Nicolas.Children are also more than welcome - we have a creche at all services and children's groups at the 4:30 service.  We understand that children (especially younger ones) can be a bit noisy sometimes and we don't mind at all!  Please don't let that stop you for joining us.

We love it when people come and join our Church Family.  There will always be someone ready to welcome  you into our Church and tell you more about us so why not come along to one of the Services, Courses or Events.  You're always invited!

Christmas 4 All
A fun Christmas service suitable for children & adults of all ages!  There'll be time to chat over hot drinks, mince-pies and other Christmas treats from 4pm, which all are warmly invited to join us for.  The service will start at 4.30pm. This service is stage 3 of the Nativity Tour - While Shepherds Watched - so we'll be hearing the shepherd's story of what happened in Bethlehem and singing Christmas Carols in this interactive all-age service.  This is a cosy Christmas service which will be happening in the Pastoral Centre (find us by walking through the Churchyard or using the alleyway between the barbers & Carolina's coffee shop on Church Road.  There'll be people in the churchyard to tell you where to go!)

Crib service - younger children
A fun & interactive Christmas service suitable for children aged 0-7 with their families.  As these services are so popular we will run the same service twice - 2pm tends to be a bit less busy than 3pm so we'd suggest coming to that service. This service is the fourth & final stage of the Nativity Tour - We Three Kings- so we'll be hearing the story of the wise men's journey as they followed the star, and why they followed it.  We'll also sing some Christmas Carols & get some jingle bells out to play for some of the songs.

Midnight Communion
A traditional midnight service.  The church is lit by candles and carols are accompanied by a choir and organ.  There will be Bible readings, a short talk and prayers in this service, which everyone is very welcome to.  Please note that we start this service at 11.30pm - not midnight! This is a service of communion when we invite all who know Jesus to take communion.  Anyone at this service is very welcome to receive a blessing during the time when communion is given, please go up to the altar rail when directed to, but keep your hands by your sides so we know you'd just like a blessing.
