Getting here

Although the information on this website says that St Nicholas Churchstoke is in a group of churches with Hyssington and Sarn, this is now incorrect but it cannot be changed because of some legalities! St Nicholas is part of the OnnyCamlad benefice which consists of Wentnor, Norbury, Ratlinghope, Myndtown, Lydham, More, Snead, Hyssington and Churchstoke. Revd Deborah Swann is the Rector from 27th July 2017.  The Rural Dean is Revd Stephanie Fountain, of St John's Bishop's Castle. The Readers are David Jelves and Mette Wardle. Revd Carol Whittock was licensed as Part-time Mission Priest in Churchstoke on 7th October 2014. She works on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and lives at the vicarage Churchstoke on those days. Our Sunday services usually begin at 10.30 unless otherwise stated.

We have a Drop-in called CoffeeCraft for people of all ages which meets in the committee room of the village hall from 10.30 to 12.30 on Thursday mornings during term time. This is primarily a craft group but anyone can join in even if they are not a crafter. It's  great to have some time out and to meet other people for a chat. It's not a club so you can come whenever you like. We charge £2 a session.

On Wednesday afternoons from 2.00 to 3.00 Powerhouse meets in the church for prayer, worship, song, chat and tea. This is usually led by Revd Carol and anyone is very welcome to join in.

On Wednesday evenings during term time the group Ignite meets in the vicarage from 7.00 to 8.45. Ignite is specially focussed on school years 7 and 8.

On the third Sunday of each month we have informal worship for all ages and this is called Sunday Central. There are lively worship songs, sketches, and crafts but there are also quiet areas for prayer and contemplation. Everyone is invited to come in and join with the activities but if you would rather just sit and watch and  listen, that is also OK. We look forward to welcoming you.
