About Us

We are a Yeovil town centre church offering a warm welcome, with a main Sunday Service at 10:30 a.m. and an informal service with a music group at 6.30pm.

We have a wide range of activities and groups for all ages, as well as a Thursday morning outreach cafe in the church. We also run a Christian’s Against Poverty debt centre which has the support of many of the other town centre churches and those in surrounding towns and villages.

As a church community we are very friendly and welcoming, with hospitality and care for others at our core.

The ancient parish church of St.John the Baptist, mainly of 14th century origin, has a long history and is the focal point of the whole town. Built in the Perpendicular style it is a large and beautiful building widely known as "The Lantern of the West". It has a massive western tower, 90 feet high, which houses a ring of ten bells and the ancient sanctus bell. The church itself is surrounded by a large "closed" grassed churchyard.
