Getting Married at St Mark's

You are welcome to marry in St Mark's whether or not you are christened and regardless of whether you go to church or not. It’s your church, and we welcome you! Please feel free to talk to me about it.

We want to make your wedding personal and memorable for you. Churches are special places and there are some things about a church wedding that you just can’t get anywhere else:

A spiritual dimension to your marriage. Amazing vows (or promises). The outstanding beauty and history of church buildings. For some people, a church simply seems like the proper place to get married.

Thanks to a new law, you've now got more choice about which church to marry in. You can be involved in making lots of choices about your ceremony too.

You can get married at St Mark's if any one of the following applies

one of you lives in the parish one of you is on St Mark's electoral roll one of you has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months one of you has at some time regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months one of you was baptised in the church one of you was prepared for confirmation in the parish one of your parents, after they were born,  lived in the parish for at least 6 months one of your parents has at any time regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months one of your parents or grandparents was married in the parish

Even if none of the above apply it may still be possible to get married at St Mark's. Please contact me on 01524 793125 or at [email protected] to arrange an informal chat.
