About Us

The church community is always welcoming and although not a member of Inclusive Church we try to follow its statement of belief.  Our services follow the range of services in Common Worship on different Sundays and also a 6.30 pm BCP evensong on the 1st Sunday of the moth. The building is a 12th century grade 1 listed church in cruciform shape. On the site of an early Saxon church said to be fouded by the Monks of St Augusine's Abbey, Canterbury. Ring of 6 bells. FH Browne 2-manual organ. Fine memorial to Sir Edwin Sandys (1561-1629) Treasurer of the Virginia Company. Churchyard still open. Fine yew trees and holm oaks, but sadly the 'famous' wide-span holm oak was cleared after it split in a storm in Nov 2016. Fine views of Goodwin Sands from church tower which can be accessed by arrangement. The church is usually open daily from 11.00 am until 17.00 or dusk. On Sundays from 9.15. On Bank Holiday Mondays, Easter to Late Summer Holiday, we open for teas in our church room which is close to the church and provides accessible facilities.
