Safeguarding at St Paul's

If you have a general enquiry or concerns about safeguarding at St Paul's. Please get in touch with the Diocesan Safeguarding Team on 01332 388678. You can also report any concerns to the Derby Diocese https://derby.anglican.org/en/report-a-safeguarding-concern.html, Police or Social Care. We are currently in a vacancy for safeguarding officer which we are urgently seeking to fill. You can also contact Rev Sarah Watson [email protected] The important thing is that your concerns are shared with someone in a position to help.

St Paul's Quarndon has a responsibility to safeguard children and young people, and vulnerable adults. We aim to create safe environments where children and young people are nurtured and protected; and where all people, especially those who may be vulnerable for any reason, are able to worship and pursue their faith journey with encouragement and in safety.

We have adopted the national Church of England’s robust procedures and guidelines. You can find out more about the national policies and procedures at www.churchofengland.org/safeguarding. We follow the Parish Safeguarding handbook and St Paul's Safeguarding Policy, details of which can be found in the document links below. We act promptly on any complaints made and work in partnership with Derbyshire Diocese, the police and social care services where children or adults at risk have been harmed or are at risk of harm or mistreatment.

We work closely with the Diocesan safeguarding team support and train all of our workers (both paid and unpaid) in line with Anglican church safeguarding regulations, including the use of criminal records disclosures and barring schemes wherever applicable.
