Getting here

Saint Alban’s Holborn is a well-known but well-hidden church on the border between the City of London and the West End.  Of course, a church is its people, not merely a building, and we are a gathered community of all shapes and sizes, who share a love of God and a desire to worship him through the sacramental life of his Church.  Come and visit us: the building is open all week, and many people nip in to say their prayers, come to mass, or even just eat their lunch in the courtyard.  You’ll find a beautiful Victorian building, rebuilt after the war, and with a striking mural on the east wall by Hans Feibusch.

And unlike most City churches, we are ‘open for business’ on Sundays.  We have two services in different styles, served by the same clergy.  Some people have a clear preference for one over the other, and some people swap between the two, or even come to both!  We stand at the Catholic end of the C of E, having a high regard for the scripture and tradition of God’s Church, and using the ‘beauty of holiness’ and fabulous music to help us in our worship.
