Home Groups at St James the Less offer a time for fellowship and reflection at an evening meeting during the week. It begins with a meal at the Church and is followed by a study with time to pray for members of the Group at the end. This can be an intimate time and one to learn and grow together in faith and learn more in a safe space and setting. There are currently [two / three] Home Groups.
Home Groups are a valuable and precious resource at St James the Less for the congregation to learn and develop in faith.

Each Friday morning at 11am a small group of older members of the congregation meet together in the Watkins Room, for what is, effectively, our 3rd Home Group. This is a time ‘...to meet, to read and to pray’. During 2023 we have been reading through the Psalms using Lectio Divina as our structure, which means that after our meetings, each person leaves with a verse, a sentence or a phrase from the psalm and a single word to take with us into the coming week. We find it remarkable how often we not only get a deep sense of the faith of the psalmist but also how often the parts we choose blend together as we share them and lead us deeper in our own journeys of faith.

This evening communion service is a more contemporary service with at least one traditional hymn. Tea and coffee served before the service.

Our Tuesday said service of Holy communion is held in church at 1pm, this is followed by a shared simple lunch which is a lovely time of fellowship.
