Getting here

Clifton is a pretty, small rural village approximately 2 miles south east of Conisbrough with 64 dwellings.

It's small Church is built of sandstone from Ulley quarry in Rotherham and is dated 1895 on land donated by the Woodyeare family.

The Church was closed in the 1980’s and re-opened in April 1997. During 2000/2002 is underwent extensive renovations with an extension to include a kitchen and toilet.

The Church stands in the centre of the peaceful village which is surrounded by farmland and it doubles as a community hall.


The Church also has bi-monthly coffee mornings, strawberry tea and Fayre, and harvest supper, as well as community social events and lunches during Lent. Special services include a Carol service and a Christingle service.
