1. Parish of Bushbury Safeguarding Statement

The care and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in Church activities is the responsibility of the whole Church. Everyone who participates in the life of the Church has a role to play in promoting a Safer Church for all.

The Parish of Bushbury values its links with children, young people and vulnerable adults. It will, therefore take all reasonable care to ensure the safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults for whom it bears responsibility. This responsibility extends to any of our children’s or young people’s groups or any activity that brings adults and children together or any activity involving vulnerable adults.

We recognise that everyone has different levels of vulnerability and that each of us may be regarded as vulnerable at some time in our lives. As members of the Parish we commit ourselves to the respectful pastoral care of all children, young people and adults to whom we minister. We are committed to establishing a safe, caring community which provides a loving environment where there is a culture of ‘informed vigilance’ as to the dangers of abuse.
