St Edmund & St George, Hethe

Welcome to the web pages for the Anglican Church of St Edmund & St George in Hethe, near Bicester, in north Oxfordshire.  We are a small church with a big heart!  The church is open all day to anyone who wishes to visit, pray or just enjoy some peace and quiet.  Hethe is "off the beaten track", has some good traditional stone buildings and easy walks into the surrounding countryside.

The parish of Hethe is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Benefice Day

Occuring
for 5 hours, 15 mins
Venue
Church Farm
Address
Church Farm, Stoke Lyne, OX27 8RU, United Kingdom

For members of the Shelswell Benefice.
"Connecting with God and with each other!"
The day will be facilitated by Yvonne Morris, Discipleship Enabler for the Dorchester and Oxford Areas and a Children and Family Ministry specialist.
We will have a chance to explore some of the ‘Space Makers’ Contemplative Toolkit – a series of exercises based on ancient Christian practises to help us slow down and simply ‘be’. Some of them are very similar to mindfulness - children at Finmere and Fringford Primary School will already have some experience of them. And in between those opportunities to be still, there will be glitter tubes to make, lunch to eat and people to get to know!
The event starts at 10.45am, but there will be a short service of Holy Communion in Stoke Lyne Church at 9.45am.
