Our Weekly Worship Services

Our  worship services are times for us encounter God through scripture and through sacrament. In these times we prayer with thanksgiving for God’s gifts, with regret for our wronging and with a care for our community, nation and world.

We have a service every Sunday at 9am. During school term time we also have ' Shine Together' every Thursday as well. Like many churches our Sunday services follow a montly pattern:

1st Sunday of the month: Holy Communion

2nd Sunday of the month: Service of the Word

3rd Sunday of the month: Holy Communion

4th Sunday of the month: Service of the Word

5th Sunday of the month: Holy Communion

Here are some further details about our three types of worship service:

Shine Together

2:45pm, Thursdays During School Term Time

At All Saints we have a close relationship with Sutton Lower School and this is our weekly service with them. The service is in two sections and people are free to attend just one, but are very welcome to both. The first begins at 2:45pm and isn’t too formal. It will include some opening prayers, a Bible reading and then a short reflection followed by more prayers. A good stilling time before God in our busy lives. The second section begins at 3pm with the arrival of the children from school. There is a procession, prayers and then a Bible reading, but with a slightly different talk. There is then a song and then we finish with some more prayers. It’s a delightful all age service!

Holy Communion

9am, 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the Month

This is also sometimes called a Eucharist or in some churches a Mass. Here we share bread and wine to both remember Jesus’s saving actions and in a deep and mysterious way be attached to him as well as to each other. The service includes readings from the Bible, times of prayer, a reflection or sermon, and a combination of traditional hymns and modern songs led by our organist. We love this service with its reverence and holiness, but also as an opportunity to be together with God.

Service of the Word

9am, 2nd and 4th Sunday of the Month

A service of prayers, bible readings and hymns with a sermon or reflection  (hence the name Service of the Word).
