SAFEGUARDING

"The parish of Sydenham: St Bartholomew is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Southwark’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."

The heart of our life and worship. We meet with Jesus through the Scriptures, through our fellowship and as the Lord comes to meet us in the bread and wine of Holy Communion.
We share our concerns with God in prayer, we listen for God's voice in the readings from the bible and a sermon and we gather as the people of God around the altar.
Music is an important part of our worship, led by our choristers, singers and young singers, fine organ and piano.
The form of service (the 'liturgy') follows contemporary Church of England patterns.

All ages are warmly welcome at St Bartholomew's. Children are always welcome in the service; there are some simple activities available for younger children for use while sitting with their families, and on the fourth Sunday of each month the prayers, sermon and other parts of the service are especially chosen with all ages in mind.

All are welcome!
