St Saviour's Church

A cherished landmark for nearly two centuries, St Saviour’s Church is often admired by passengers pulling into Bath on the train from London. However, it’s more than just a beautiful building and piece of Bath’s history: our church is part of what makes Larkhall such a wonderful place to live and work. Come and be part of it.

Welcome to St Saviour’s Church. We are followers of Jesus (hence the name- St Saviour’s). We are just a few of the 2.4 billion Christians around the world today who believe in one God, who sent his Son, Jesus, to show us who God is, to forgive our sins, and to give us an extraordinary purpose in life. We believe Jesus died and rose again, and that his Spirit is alive today, bringing new life, healing and restoration.

Our mission goes well beyond our own congregation; we seek to serve everyone in the parish and all who walk through our doors. St Saviour’s church members are a caring and committed group who each volunteer their time and talents to serve in some way, to demonstrate the love of Christ not just with words but with actions.

Our values come from the prophet Micah who spoke out boldly on behalf of those who are vulnerable and on the margins. He sums up what’s important in life (chapter 6v 8)..

And what does the Lord require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy

and to walk humbly with your God

Act Justly As a church this past year we have been exploring the Christian concept of justice, of what it means to treat one another fairly, and to expose corruption or exploitation. We have come to understand how righteousness and justice go together. When we are made right with God through Jesus Christ, it changes everything!

Love Mercy We have also been pondering on what it means to love mercy. What is grace? What does forgiveness look like? What does it look like to be forgiven?

Walk Humbly Then most of all we aim to walk humbly with our God, together and as individuals; for us this means to walk in relationship with our heavenly Father. To know that all we do is for him, all that we are is for him, all that we have is his. We are blown away by the fact that we are called his children. We are blown away by the fact that we are loved, and we love in return.
