About Us

Up until recently, we were the Benefice of Chewton Mendip with Emborough, Ston Easton and Litton. Then, in 2024 we began the process of pastoral reorganisation in order to create the 'East Mendip Hills' benefice, which also encompassed churches in Ashwick, Oakhill and Binegar (previously known as the 'Beacon Trinity' benefice).

The new 'EMH' benefice is still in the process of becoming 'official' but comprises of six churches in regular use and one other church (Emborough) which is looked after by the 'Churches Conservation Trust' and which is occasionally used for special events (e.g.carols by candlelight).

The (soon to be) 'East Mendip Hills' benefice lies towards the eastern end of the Mendip Hills and is surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We have regular services at each of the six churches throughout our benefice. Please see our 'Services and Events' section on the menu to the left and feel free to pop along to any of our services. You are always welcome.
