Revd Adrian Roux from the South Kent Methodist Circuit, together with Rector Geoff and our Church Steward David Smith, led an ecumenical service for Good Friday morning. After a service of the word in the Church of the Good Shepherd, the congregation went on a small Walk of Witness around the village of Hamstreet. Prayers for the village community were led by David Smith, as we stopped at various locations, and a wooden cross was carried by our ministers. This was placed, as is local custom, opposite the Rectory, as a vision symbol and witness to the Christian understanding of Easter. We ended our time together, with fellowship back at the church hall over hot drinks and Hot Cross Buns.
